About Me

The Backstory

In the summer between graduating high school and starting college at the University of Kansas, I stumbled across a fashion blog while browsing Pinterest. I had no idea that people blogged about clothes, and I began to read style blogs like crazy. I learned a ton about personal style, and getting dressed in the morning became a form of self-expression for me. Late in my freshman year, I decided to start a style blog of my own.

The Blog

After a summer away at camp, I returned to KU excited to start my sophomore year. The evening I got back to school, I took the plunge and created my blog under the name Undergraduate Style. I began to document my daily outfits, and eventually developed a mission--to creatively and intentionally cultivate a wardrobe that suits all aspects of my lifestyle, and to share what I learn with others. Along the way, I developed segments such as Blogging Besties, Pinspired, and Four Seasons. After I graduated from KU in 2016, I rebranded the blog to its current name--The Cheerful Closet. This blog has been a fabulous creative outlet for me throughout my college years and beyond, and it's allowed me to develop skills I never thought I'd learn!

The Behind-the-Scenes

In addition to my work on The Cheerful Closet, I work in recruiting at a software company in the Kansas City area. I love my job and the field of human resources in general. I live with my family in Kansas City, where I enjoy cooking, running, and snuggling with our cute dogs. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the ride!
