KC Fashion Week: Friday Night

Guess what--I'm back with more KC Fashion Week coverage, this time for Friday night's runway show!

First off, let me tell you about my outfit. This was by far my edgiest outfit from all of Fashion Week--I tried several trends that are outside my comfort zone (velvet, choker, half-up bun) but ultimately was really pleased with the result!

Amanda Casarez:

I thought it was very fun that the designer mixed both adult and kids' fashions in this collection! The use of color was very fun and energetic.

Cassandra P:

Every runway show needs a good bridal collection, and this one certainly fit the bill! This collection made me think that we will be seeing a lot of simplicity in bridal designs this year.

Gabriela International Productions:

This line was inspired by the fashions of Peru and, as a former student of Latin America and the Spanish language, I absolutely LOVED it! The bright colors, the structure of the skirts, and the indigenous Peruvian-inspired accessories were all absolutely delightful.

Georgina Herrera:

I have seen Georgina Herrera's jewelry on KCFW runways for several seasons now, and she never disappoints! Each piece of jewelry was more elaborate and stunning than the one before.

J. Manning:

This was a fun mix of womens- and menswear; I enjoyed the continuity of how the designer used the same fabric multiple times!

Jane of All:

This was a SUPER fun and playful collection! It was reminiscent of summer days spent at the park, the beach, the pool, and all those other quintessential summer activities.

Michael Drummond:

Michael Drummond is another perennial KC favorite! He shared an edgy, dark collection of womenswear. Based off this line, I think screen printed items will be big next spring/summer!
