CM Remix: Wedding Guest

Summer is in full swing, and that can only mean one thing: wedding season. I attended two weddings in the month of June alone, and have another coming up later this summer. I absolutely love weddings--it is so sweet to watch my friends say "I do"!

However, one thing that many people have trouble with is deciphering those dress codes and deciding what to wear to a wedding. Many end up just buying a new dress for each event (I'm often guilty of this one--weddings are my favorite excuse to buy a new dress!) But it doesn't have to be that way. Today, I'm sharing tips on how to dress up or dress down a dress you already have in your closet! Just pick a dress with a pretty print and style away; I picked a lovely floral dress from Talbots and styled it entirely with pieces from Clothes Mentor!

Outdoor weddings in particular are known for having a more casual dress code. And outdoor events are the PERFECT opportunity to wear a pretty hat (which will do double duty by keeping the sun out of your face!) Strappy wedges are also a great choice--nothing too tall, though, because you'll probably be walking through the grass at some point. Finish it off with a fun clutch or crossbody bag!

For a more formal wedding, a floppy straw hat is probably not appropriate. However, one surefire way to dress up the same dress is to add a glamorous statement necklace like this little pearl number. For shoes, wedges are still a great choice (they're easier to dance in) but choose a more polished, classic look, like these patent-leather nude wedges. Top off the look with a classy clutch!
