How to Pack for a Beach Vacation

Hi, y'all! I recently shared about my fantastic vacation to Alabama, and since I place such a strong emphasis on packing smart, I thought I'd share my packing process with you! Last summer I wrote a post called How to Pack for a Conference where I shared what I wore to the Omega Phi Alpha national Convention, but packing for a beach vacation is obviously a lot different! I planned out my outfits for this one too, but I really didn't need to bring as much stuff. I also didn't include items such as toiletries, entertainment items, etc. because everyone has their own needs for that! This is just what I wore!

First, I planned out all my outfits! We left on a Wednesday night and drove back on Sunday, so I figured I'd need 5 outfits. I wanted extra-comfy outfits for driving days, and I also wanted a red and blue outfit to wear on Independence Day!

As you can see, each piece (except the dress) was worn twice, so everything served multiple purposes! I also didn't really accessorize much on this trip, since everything was so relaxed and jewelry would be hard to manage on the beach and whatnot! I only ended up bringing 7 pieces--2 tanks, 2 bottoms, a cardigan, a dress, and a scarf!

1) Tank: Stylus (similarsimilarsimilar)

2) Tank: H&M (similarsimilar)

3) Cardigan: H&M (similarsimilarsimilar)

4) Dress: Old Navy (similarsimilarsimilar

5) Jeans: LOFT (similarsimilarsimilar)

6) Shorts: thrifted (similarsimilarsimilar)

7) Scarf: Charlotte Russe (similarsimilarsimilar)

In addition to the clothing, I of course had to bring stuff for the beach! I brought two swimsuits, a dress as a coverup, two pairs of sandals, and a floppy hat (not pictured!)

All in all, I was very happy with the wardrobe choices I made! I was worried I wasn't bringing enough pieces, but there were just enough to keep me comfortable and stylish in Alabama!

Have you done any traveling this summer? How do you pack for the beach?
