Feeling Like Myself

One of the "journeys" on which I've embarked since starting this blog is finding a style that works for me. I've talked many times about how easy it is to buy pieces and style outfits just because they work for other people, maybe even a LOT of other people. But just because they work for other people doesn't mean they work for me. It's hard to let go of the fact that I will probably never like wearing booties or boyfriend jeans, even if they work for so, so, SO many other bloggers/people. However, when I purge my closet of items that I only wear for other people, keeping only the things that I wear for me, I like my outfits so much more, and I feel like myself when I wear them.

This is one of those outfits, friends. Every piece in this outfit feels like it was made for me. Maybe it's the stripes, the flats, or the caramel color of the cardigan, but I felt like a champ in this one. When you look at the outfit formula (tee + cardigan + scarf,) it seems really basic, but the elements work together to fit me perfectly.

Also, P.S. I know this isn't really that appropriate of an outfit for summer. But it was a chilly evening when I wore this, and what can I say? I will always long for autumn.

Tee: Target
Cardigan: Target
Scarf: Forever 21
Jeans: Forever 21
Flats: Charlotte Russe

My thoughts on this outfit have definitely renewed my inspiration to give my wardrobe a MAJOR overhaul once I get back to school and can have it all hanging in front of me. Who needs a bunch of pieces I don't love when I can have a few that make me feel like a million bucks?

Have a great weekend, friends :)
